I probably grow more medians than TBs and yes they are less prone to
borer. It is almost certainly related to the size of the rhizome.
Small-rhizomed SDBs are rarely attacked even if there is huge clump that
the borer could feast on. On the other hand, large rhizomes, such as
the TB-sized rhizome that we received last year of YAT ROCK did get
devastated by borer.
