     This reminds me of when I lost CANNINGTON BLUEBIRD, and another Iris,
as well as a white Liatris to separate lightning strikes in Kentucky.  Iris
pseudacorus got struck twice, but survived.  Down here, it is the cable TV
tower that serves at the local lightning rod.
     Give the remaining piece of ASK ALMA a chance, because it could come
back.  Some 1998 planted starts of some Louisiana Irises look "gone" during
June with the drought +watering restrictions.  However, after that 10.99"
in July, and 5.79" so far in August (including 1.44" today), I am finding
strong new growth on the Louisianas now.  Now, hoping that the Armadillo
doesn't get them.  
     I would tell you to bring those Crows here and toss them in that old
pond about a mile away, but it is illegal to feed the Alligators...
