when they laid the lines so we could have city water in our remote little
corner, they cut phone lines repeatedly by accident.  Of course, lines were
repaired but don't give us a good enough connection for the computer to
perform properly.  Every time it rains, for some reason it causes static on
the line or the phone goes out completely....and it has rained  A LOT this
summer!  Midwest blames Ameritech but I think some of the time it's Midwest
malfunctioning too.  But what can we do?  The AOL, ACCESS, etc. customers
are all complaining of the same.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  What
can we as individuals do to get better service.  Our phone bills and on
line service is through the roof...it's very frustrating!!   Ann Henson,
here in Southern Illinois where we're recovering from 7" of rain last
Thursday (only showers today)
