Found it in the '49 checklist, but it is the victim of an apparent typo.
There is no Whiting N. in the abbreviations list up front. There is a
Whiting E., one Mrs. Elizabeth Whiting. Perhaps her late husband's first
name began with an N?

GLAD TIDINGS (Whiting N., r. 46) TB-M. Y4M, which means, I gather, medium
yellow self. Smells like honey locust.

If anyone knows a tale behind this typo, I'd love to hear it.

By the way, one of my delights at our regional meeting was standing up and
announcing that I belong to Region 15 when Louise Carson asked about
out-of-region participants. People said, Southern California? No way. And I
said Yes way.
So cool.
