Re: Companions for iris?

From: Diana <mikesmom@ix.netcom.com>

what to plant with bearded iris for bloom before and after the iris
flower.

For the past four years, I have planted several flats of pansies for the
winter months, but, since they cannot withstand our summer heat, I
replace them with petunias in the summer. However, for the past three
years, my petunias have reseeded themselves, and that gives me double
color in the spring since it hasn't gotten hot enough to burn the
pansies but, has warmed up enough for the petunia seeds to start
sprouting. By the time most people have started buying and planting
starts, mine are already blooming and at least 12" in diameter.

These plants fill in the spaces between the iris, and give color instead
of a plain "dirt" color on the ground.

on the water bill for the city to be able to build a new water center.
