Yesterday I received my iris order from Willow Bend Farms. The first thing
I did was unpack them all and count them. As I removed them from the box I
read off the names which were written in black marker on the main fans. I
was oh so happy to get several extra bonus plants!
I read the names of the bonuses and did not recognize most of them. One of
them, however, really had me cussing a blue streak! All that was written
on it was "EXTRA".....no name, no nothing...just "EXTRA". Boy was I angry!
How could they do this to me? How could they send me an unidentifiable
bonus iris? I was shaking my fists at the box cursing it for bringing me
such a "gift".
Well, after about 15 minutes of cursing the box and wondering what I was
going to do, I finally read over the receipt they gave me. BOY DID I FEEL
STUPID!!! "EXTRA" was the name of one of the MDB's that I had ordered!
EXTRA (Palmer 1989) - MDB, Blue-violet bitone, rebloomer.
So, after 15 minutes of speaking in tongues from being so angry, I realized
my mistake and then couldn't stop laughing at myself. I wonder if I take
this gardening thing too seriously? :) So have any of you made the same
mistake with this little iris???
