I was suprised to receive two rather pricy spurias as free gifts when I 
ordered 6 of the cheapest spurias in the catalogue. These two were new 
introductions by a new hybridiser, and I wonder if giving them out free 
is a means of distributing them so that people get to know what this new 
hybridiser is producing. 

BTW, I wonder if our friend who is trying to keep cats out of her garden 
is finding this thread 'CAT-free plants" rather frustrating. :)
