Hi Walter,
We introduced one this year called Bonus Lite. We picked the name last year
when we decided to add an additional extra to orders of $100.00 or more.
The plant was scheduled for introduction anyway and by no means is it an
inferior flower. It is a highly improved White Lightning, very ruffled with
excellent branching and bud count. It reblooms sporadically for us so we
didn't list it as a rebloomer. We will probably have another bonus iris
next year specifically for orders over $100.00. It is once again a great
flower with substance about as thick as a penny. People are welcome to
order our bonus iris and many do. The whole idea is to express gratitude to
our customers and of course give a little added incentive for the larger
orders. I might add that the iris did not detract from our bonus schedule,
it was just added on. I believe in the past there have been quite a few
iris introduced as bonuses. Gratuity, Bonus Mama, Muchas Garacias to name a
few. I don't have any complaints with any of these cultivars. IMHO I feel
that if someone introduces an inferior iris specifically for a bonus, then
they are cheating the customer and in the long run will really hurt their
business.
Sincerely
Mike Sutton
