Texas doesn't have the edge on tall weeds -- here in Western Missouri
they are growing 6 - 7 feet tall (but only in the iris beds). I've been
joking about using a chain saw to cut them down. But have come up with
a better plan (this is no joke) -- using hedge trimmers (either electric
or gas-powered) works great. You can cut them down to a height where
you can get a grip on them to pull. Course you need a stick of dynamite
(or be willing to pay a very high water bill) to get them out of the
ground.
