I. atropurpurea is one of the easiest oncocyclus, a good one to start with.
Protection from summer moisture is essential. Make sure the planting site
has axcellent drainage. If your annual rainfall is more than about 20
inches, you should consider digging it and holding it out of the ground
during the summer. Winter cold should not be a problem in zone 6.
