I do know what Dennis is talking about with the tumbleweeds. I lived in the
same area as he does for most of my life (more than 30 years). One cannot
always find the tumbleweed sprout when it is first coming up and, trust me,
putting roundup or any other weed control on them is just like feeding them.
They seem to love it. There are too many tumbleweed spores that are
distributed by all of the wind in that area. Putting them in the trash can
is a great idea, but before you ever get that far there will be tiny seeds
that have dropped to start even more.
It's a constant effort to keep ahead of them, but Fall is coming Dennis and
maybe if you don't have very much rain this year, the tumbleweeds won't be
too bad next year. Too bad you can't do what we used to do years ago when
the area was still small and that was BURN them before they ever turned
brown!
