Re: Re: COMP: toys

Hi Linda,

You put the second card in YOUR CAMERA CASE. Ha, I say this as two of mine
are floating around on my desk. I have been trying very hard to get the
download from mine to my new laptop. Only found out Monday I need
additional software for XP.

I can see the material but I can't download it. (I can download it to this
computer but I can't take this one to convention now can I :).) Of course I
can get the software on line but I have AOL on the laptop (for free for a
year) and every time I download it, it becomes contaminated. So I spent the
money and ordered the CD.

The good news is I bought a label maker that is attached to my computer (my
desktop). Recommended by one of the Northern Illinois Iris Society members.
I have all my Iris on the computer including layout and locations. The fun
is the locations are linked to the layout so if I move a clump and change
the location on the list it also moves on the layout. I did the layout with
a recommendation from Rita G.

Now I can print the new label from the computer in ultraviolet ray protected
laminated labels the size of my markers. I hope to have all new labels
ready for the garden by the time the weather breaks. The finger stuff of
putting the labels on the markers takes the time and I have 600 plus Iris
now. I can download to the label maker software but I have to do some
moving around first so the labels look the way I want them to.

I print the name, the size (like TB) and the location on the label. Then
when I look at the marker in the garden I see all that and know when it is
wrong or right so I am proofing my work as I go. I also continually upgrade
my own knowledge on new Iris with this method. I am reading the name and
the size of the Iris every time I look at the Iris.

I am taking orders for the labels. Your file in Excel $12 for 10 including
the markers plus postage. If I type the file more but have not figured the
price.

LIGHTHOUSE BEACON
MDB 1992 X26

The label is 4" long and 1" high. The letters are 20 point. In most any
font type. I use Ariel and make it BOLD but I have an unlimited list of
nearly 400 different font types.

Now I played as long as possible. I have Christmas presents to wrap. GET
TO WORK CHAR!!!

Marry Christmas to all, Char
