Darling boy, thank you so much for your kind words. No, I don't think so,
merci. I've got a stack of Iris history putters I am trying to tend to now, and I
frankly seem to get more done by myself. I'm all broody about my Iris persica
article, and later on I have something in mind dealing with the '39 Check
List. Besides, I don't have the dough or the dirt to tackle that, although there
appear to be plenty who do.

I took an interest in the question because of my interest in Check Lists
generally, and I tossed out the possibility of an official Society photographer or
photographic team because it was an alternative route to the same putatively
desirable goal, Ghordian knot-wise. Such an approach would, of course, create
its own problems while obviating the need to find solutions for others. It
does seem patent, however, that if the Society is going to publish photos under
imprimature, whether real or de facto, then they will have to be vetted photos
and you get those only from the hybridizer or an agent of the Society. In any
case, I am not persuaded that the goal as presented is a sound one, but those
who are should certainly follow their bliss.

Cordially,

Anner Whitehead
