I am a very collaborative person. I have not had a chance to meet with my committee to understand their concerns and objections I hope that this may happen at the convention this spring. But I must say this. Anner and John do not seem to share the value or believe this project is worthwhile. They are welcome to their opinions. I will do my best to prove them wrong. But I have little interest in the criticisms of those who dont see the value of the project. For those who believe that something along these lines can and should be accomplished, I am very interested in my customers concerns. And all input is heard and absorbed., I am not ignorant of a great many problems. Some can be overcome others require the education of the user as to the limits of the information provided. I believe in the sophistication of irisarians to use yet another tool wisely. Most I feel will be grateful for an augmented product. I have no illusions of reaching perfection and I am happy to see my own
efforts replaced with something better in the future. But I also see a common pattern of inaction on many fronts because of nay-sayers and authoritative critics. I dont expect any thank yous. I look at the history of the iris society and see many cases where a person started a project but never received any credit. Does anyone remember Carol Lee Clay? I bet most people would never knew that she started the Historic Iris Preservation Society. Of course more competent individuals took over and made it work. But credit is never given to those who start the ball rolling. I am trying to get something started here and I will undoubtedly be replaced by better organizers. Until they come forward I will do my best to get the ball rolling
