RE:Hyb; plicata Genetisa

AS part of my genetic research of plicatas I have noted 15 genotypes of plicatas as outlined below. For those particularly interested in luminata gene, note that there are 11 patterns with one or more luminata alleles. Of the following 15 types there are only three I'm positive of.
5) glaciata
11) Wide zonal
10) luminata pattern

I have not identifed any any pattern that is clearly four pl genes with none of the genes being luminata or glaciata.

Feel free to speculate on the phenotypes of any of the undescribed genotypes. I just ask that you just don't guess but provide some justification based on paarentage/offspring data. Sorry but guesses based on just appearances and speculation can only lead to confussion. Beleive me on this , I've tried this, it doesn't work

Plicata and Glaciata Genes

1) pl pl pl pl

2) pl pl pl pla

3) pl pl pla pla

4) pl pla pla pla plicata(1) narrow rim of stippling,( usually stitching) April Melody has been clearly identified as being of this type.

5) pla pla pla pla glaciata no anthocyanin in flower or in beard on top layer of petals. May be anthocyanin pigment on underside of petals, known as the celstar patern.

Plicata and Luminata Genes

1) pl pl pl pl

6) pl pl pl plu

7) pl pl plu plu

8) pl plu plu plu narrow zonal even colour spread of anthocyanin with a marked spot clear of anthocyanin around and below the beard, beard also free of anthocyanin. Base colour coat can be seen here such as yellow or pink. Some zonals donbt seem to be of this genetic pattern

9) plu plu plu plu

Glaciata and Luminata Genes

5) pla pla pla pla glaciata, no anthocyanin present, only base colour shows, this can be yellow (carotenoid), pink (lycopene), white or any of these tinted with residue chlorophyll.

10) pla pla pla plu Classic luminata pattern with beard and area of beard free of anthocyanin. Anthocyanin in a wash over center of falls with veins lighter in colour or complete absence of anthocyanin. Very little or no anthocyanin in style arms. A ligheening or absence of anthocyanin at edge of petals.

11) pla pla plu plu Wide zonal pattern eg: Clarence and Suky

12) pla plu plu plu ? zonal ? Perhaps Victoria falls type of zonal with narrow zonal area and anthocyanin absent in beard and some blending of colours at edge on zonal area

9) plu plu plu plu

Mixed patterns, Plicata, Glaciata and Luminata

The most interesting patterns are when all three alleles compete for control of the anthocyanin distribution. The gene that is doubled up seems to have the most impact on what is seen. There is much variation in each type, even thought they are distinct. The competition for control of the anthocyanin pigments seems to vary back and forth depending on other factors such as intensity of colour and bAnthocyanin Enhancement b factors.

13) pl pl pla plu This is the fancy plicata or what is also known as the luminata plicata. This is a wash of colour between veins, also with veining. On the standards and falls with the pattern sometimes being more even on the falls then the standards.

14) pl pla pla plu this seems to the broken colour plicata of the Maria Tormena b and Tiger Honey type with uneven irregular steaks of white (or of any ground colour) and anthocyanin streaks

15) pl pla plu plu This seems to be the broken colour pattern of the bPurple Streakerb type with uneven irregular steaks of white (or of any carotenoid pigment present) on anthocyanin ground.

Broken Colour seems to be a competition for control of the anthocyanin pigment by the glaciata, luminata and plicata alleles.
