Re:CULT:...interspersing

Irises don't like competition.  If you want maximum growth, quality bloom and
optimum performance in all respects, keep them scrupulously clean.

One person last year suggested Portulaca as companion plants--they may be the
exception.  Very early spring blooming bulbs like Snow Crocus would probably
be ok--maybe.
