Linda, as I recall --although you may not-- many moons ago I sent you some
seeds of Linaria pupurea 'Canon J. Went", a very nice selection of a European
toadflax with delicate feathery blue-grey foliage like little bottlebrushes and
spikes of pale pink flowers resembling very small snapdragons. The plant
reseeds prolifically and generally comes true, although the purple of the species
reappears occasionally. There is also a white form in trade under--if memory
serves--the name of another Anglican clergyman. Sound familiar? Looks like 18"
tall larkspur? Is any of that still with for you? I realize the scale of the
thing would be way off for the more dramatic effects you are creating with
squash and whatnot.
