I'm not positive, but am fairly certain they did germinate, but didn't
make it to maturity.  Or if they did, they didn't reseed.  No blip in my
erratic memory at the moment.  And as you point out, not exactly to the
scale of spectacular weeds I prefer <g>

Larkspur does extremely well here and self sows amongst the iris in the
rebloomer beds where there is less gravel.  I haven't tried to establish
them in the gravel rows - they were here as a weed when I bought this
place 30+ yrs ago, & I figure if they haven't moved the additional 20 ft
or so to get to the gravel rows by now, they probably wouldnt' survive
there.

I do remember the Datura you also sent - another one that wasn't quite
compatible with my somewhat eccentric/eclectic tastes, but spectacular
blooms.
