iris photos.  
 
I grew CHICO MAID for three or four years.  (Alvaton) During this  time, it 
ALWAYS had dry & papery spaths during bloom season and in my  garden.  The 
result of pallidas influence?  
 
After I'd grown it for most of this time, an opportunity came to show it in  
our local show.  Since it had always had these dry spaths, I was unprepared  
for the judges reaction!  Negative to say the least!
