Re: Re Ruffles vs more tailor (sp?)ed style

Rosalie after seeing and growing "plain-janes" for > of my life I want ruffles now. They don't have to be super ruffled. When I first saw color breakers I thought they were exciting. Now they are boring. And most are very poor growers. Horned iris are ok, flounced are ugly. Rebloomers freeze out here most of the time.

Why don't hybredizers introduce new tailored iris?
Very few people would pay $35 to $55 for one.
There are hundreds of proven ones on the market for $1.50 to $5

Isn't it great their are some out there for all of us!!

Robin, I don't understand why everyone is so gung-ho for ruffled ruffles!
Maybe I'm the odd-ball, but I like plain irises i.e. minus those everlasting
ruffles! And the smaller ones are needed for reblooming medians Do give us
beautiful ruffled irises, but don't discard the plain-janes if the form
otherwise is good. Rosalie nr Baltimore, Md., USA a rainy, misty zone 7, but
still near 50 degrees today!.
