Parents aren't listed in the online register. Pod parent has Rosy Wings and
Rameses. Pollen parent has Autumn Elf, Ambrosia, & Autumn King.

Didn't you and I discuss going back to Brown irises to avoid the plicata
genes, something like last fall or winter? I didn't really want to go that far
back!!

How many of the Brown rebloomers do you still grow? No! NO! Forget I said
that!!

I think I'd rather build a NEW one!! It would only take forever! <vbg>

<<So far, none of the HARVEST OF MEMORIES babies have shown any sign of
plicata in the first generation, but few of the HoM X blue crosses have
been successful and I wouldn't expect it to show in non-blue crosses (it
might be there, but no blue pigment to express it).

If that's any help <g>>>

Unless I'm missing something, the best way to TEST it would be to cross a
plicata onto it?? I don't know how many I'd have to grow without plicata
seedlings to be sure the gene doesn't transmit. But I figure I've looked at
enough of the 1812 seedlings to be fairly sure. 140+ planted and I think most
bloomed. No plicata. Lots of lavender fall overlays as expected.

Immortality transmits the first generation. I've grown them. Violet
Miracle transmits. When crossed with Brother Carl, it gave Matrix. (Plicata in
Brother Carl too)

I wonder how many generations I'd have to go with VM to breed OUT the
plicata while still retaining both rebloom and decent form? Just keep reducing the
white spot at the beard. Simple!! ;-)

Okay, lets say I put Rippling River (pollen fertile only) on VM and produce
150 plants? I'm going to HOPE that the rebloom from Ship Shape, Full Tide,
and Five Star Admiral kick in and give me some rebloom? Why RR? Awesome
ruffles which it passes on! (research!)

Select and cross the four best seedlings . . . beauty, color, stalk, buds,
branching, etc.. Establish a 'pretty' line and then breed for rebloom!
Bingo!! With enough first generation seedlings I might be able to get both
pretty and rebloom in the same varieties. This would help some and cut 2+ years
off the time table.

Planting as early as possible and turning each generation around as quick as
mother nature would allow? Assuming I'm successful at the earliest possible
time in each instance?

If I got rebloom with the first rebloom set, I'll have something to
introduce no earlier than 2020! (Maybe 2018.) Lot of time invested.
