Yes, maybe half of crosses? Let me know if you want data.
Does anyone get a large number of sprouts from holdover pots under any conditions? -- Griff
Most memorable was BEHOLD A LADY X CELEBRATION SONG. <No> germination
the first year, big crop second year, nearly as many third year.
Outdoor pots; before I started burrito'ing. Nearly 20 survivors,
several nice.
Currently germinating - ENGLISH COTTAGE X SHARPSHOOTER. About 5
survivors last year, another 6 or so up so far this month.
Of the 60 or so seedlings from IC1 X "pretty baby", less than half came
up the first year.
And don't forget Ghio's STARRING and all the other 'unknown' pedigree
introductions he has from some seeds that were unintentionally left to
germinate a second year a few years ago. I suspect he leaves all his
seeds for a second year now <g>
