CULT:Pseudacorusgrowing, unexpected sideeffects of,

From: Maj =?iso-8859-1?Q?=D6hrstr=F6m?= <pajden@algonet.se>

Dear irisarians, I must tell you about the best thing I ever done for my
garden.
I followed Mark A Cook´s advice and started a pond for
pseudacorusgrowing. Not a big one, just about 450 liters, and put a
pseudacorus and some other marshplants into it. My neighbour said:"It
will all rot, you must have a pump!" Well, we drove to the nursery and
purchased a little fountain with pump and all, it was not expensive.
Suddenly we had the prettiest little fountain glittering in the sunshine
and making wonderful rippling sounds of running water in the silent
nights. And, to my surprise, the birds and the bees and the butterflies
came to visit. The birds took a bath at eight o´clock in the morning and
five o´clock in the afternoon, very punctual, the bees came all day long
only it was sunshine and the butterflies came every now and then, big
butterflies, some of them I had never seen before, and they drank
copiously.
This unpretentious little pond gave a lot of extra life and beauty to
the garden and I recommend everyone to do the same. Thank you, Mark A
Cook!
The pseudacorus did not grow well, though, I think the pond was too
small. When the ice melts away, I will dig it bigger.
Greetings from Maj Ohrstrom, Sweden
