Sluggies? Negatory, my dear. I fling them with a carefully developed twist of
the wrist and off they go sailing over the wall and into the alley. I
recommend this non-chemical means of slug abatement. Now, Hall, on the other
hand, stacks them up on the fine bamboo skewer and then he takes his skewers
out back and sticks them into a crack in the low brick wall so they are all
lined up like hors d'oeuvres around an hibachi. At all times in season a
flashlight and skewers are at the ready for nocturnal slug hunts. This is
rough on the slugs, of course, little wretches with their cute horns, but I
have more than enough to enjoy most of the time <snort> and that ghastly
poison bait is not something I want around here for the vertibrates to get
into. My cat Dr.Malinowski would find it in a heartbeat. He eats everything,
with the exception of slugs. There are some other "comehither" poisons which
are pheremone based but that seems rather indecent to me and I have never
tried them. Besides, the last thing I need to do is lure all the slugs in the
neighborhood into this yard for a, ummm. frolic.
