Re: CULT: cow death
Hi Don,
My dad has seen cattle eat iris rhizomes by accident when they did not have anything else green to eat. You are correct that they usually do not care for them. They will however eat them if they are in their path to something more their liking. I wish some of the Iris clumps were only 40 years old that I moved. Some were 10 square yards. Replanted in road ditches that is about 1/2 mile 3'deep. Do you have any of the old pale blue almost silver variety? They are a larger flower than most species and quite fragrant. I left mine behind when I moved out of town and find I miss them under my bedroom window. They scented the entire house. Slow spreaders.

What you don't know
doesn't hurt, but I do get superstititious when I learn something. Thanks.
I know what you mean. It almost like a warning of what is to come if you do not act.
Sincerely Wendy
Zone 5 with black ice quickly building up on everything. So much for that 40o afternoon weather with showers. This is just another ice storm.
