(iris blue is not "blue"--check it against a spectrum blue
color reference and you will see just how violet the bluest iris really is)

I'm not so sure. In MOST cases I agree, but NAVAJO JEWEL, CLOUD BALLET, and
probably some of the mid-blue selfs are pretty blue-looking to me. And of
course many of the PCN hybrids have strikingly blue colors in them. I have
also noticed subtle streaks of a remarkable, hard to describe glistening
turquoisy-blue color in the style-arms of LOUISA"S SONG (invisible except to
dedicated hybridizers).
