I wouldn't pay $85 for any iris, no matter if I thought it was the most
beautiful thing ever introduced.  Hybridizers  or those interested in
propagating for future sales of their own might do so.  I no longer buy from
pictures anyway, so I'd want to see the real thing  I was paying for.  As for
now, the picture definitely doesn't attract me, and unless the reality is more
to my liking I will pass at any price.   Of course some will have a different
reaction--
one man's meat is another man's poison, as the old saying has it--but I can
think of a lot of other iris I'd rather have, including some of Joe Ghio's
things, which, unfortunately often don't do very well in this area anyway.
