Trying to see if I understand all this - so (in theory) if I were going to manufacture a line & speckle from "scratch", I would want to combine something like
a seedling from, for example, DUSKY CHALLENGER, that wasn't solid dark purple - maybe something that looked like HONKY TONK BLUES, with the wash on the falls, but from 'black' ancestry? What kind of cross would produce such a thing? I think I need a diagram ;-)
with a plicata? Any old plicata? Or are there supposed to be some luminata genes in there?
