Dear Janis Unfortunately no one nursery offers all the named culivars
of Iris cristata. It is a real challenge to try to assemble a
collection of the cultivars. Eco Gardens of Don Jacobs has probably
tthe most consistant listing with about 5 of his own introductions.
Don is a world famous plantsman but specializes in such a wide
variety of plants that most people dont think of him when it comes
to iris. Unfortunately few Iris fans have taken Iris cristata very
seriously and most catalogs may offer one or two forms. Lorena Reid
used to have another 4-5 but I think she has given up propagating the
variety of plants that she used to. Coopers Gardens also in the past
has had another 3-4 varieties. At the moment there are probably more
forms offered in general perrenial nurseries than from most Iris
specialist. I would watch for gardens that may be mentioned in SIGNA
and you would probably find a few others. The elusive pink cristata
seems to have disappeared everywhere. Bob Pries,
