aren't toads also supposed to eat slugs? seems like i saw some pottery 'toad
houses' for sale that were supposed to attract toads to eat the slugs and
bugs.

the standard remedy for slugs i have always heard is to pour little dishes of
beer for them to drown in. but it seems to me the family pets wouldn't slurp
up the beer first.
