i have to get out the dictionary to decipher some of these messages - Cilicia
is a region along the coast of southern turkey. i had to go to the 1911
encyclopedia brittanica for amasia -' the chief town of a sanjak in the Sivas
vilayet of Asia Minor ... beautifully situated on the Yeshil Irmak (Iris).'
near as i can tell from the rest of the article, where they keep mentioning
'the river', the Yeshil Irmak is a river in Turkey and maybe another name for
it is the Iris? which doesn't help much to know its native habitat and soil
characteristics.

is anybody from turkey on this list yet?
