SPEC: I. cretica
From: Bill Shear <BILLS@hsc.edu>
Dennis sent me some of his I. cretica plants last year. One has survived
and is growing outside. Yesterday I checked the largest fan, and it seems
to have a bud coming on. So far our lowest temperature has been about 22F.
In addition to cretica, lazica and unguicularis seedlings are also
surviving nicely outside--but rabbits ate down the unguicularis so I doubt
if there will be any bloom this winter. The lazica plants are still too
small to bloom; they came as seedlings from Arrowhead Alpines.
Warm and balmy here for the past few days. Hellebores coming into bloom
and reticulata shoots poking up.
