OT-HUMOR: Or more appropreately humored at the empire

Stuff's happenin' here. Two pairs of Hooded Mergansers visited the pond 
yesterday. The day before 11 Wood ducks were swimmin' with the two resident 
Mallard drakes. Their common girl friend has done disappeared.

The deep diving, fish eatin' Mergansers and the acorn eatin', shallow slough 
lovin' Woodys do not appear here until some bad cold is a comin'.

I'm expectin' a Bufflehead or two today. Maybe some of them fat, big talkin' 
Canada Geese in another day or so after this, soon as all them Yankee golf 
courses are frozen real good.

I'm a thinkin' them Woodys and Mergansers got bout as many colors as irises 
and you don't really need them there weather forecast or bloomin' flowers 
when you can be real lazy, build a big fire, and watch them two ducks. Course 
it might be some better if the roof didn't leak.
