Walter, I think your concerns are very important. If not a legal issue,
this is certainly an issue of common courtesy. This type of copied
material should be acknowledged as portions of casual conversations among
iris friends via email. Most of us are more than willing to share
anything related to iris, even iris! Who knows, AIS might even derive
some new interest if it were to broaden it's base of input and
acknowledgement. Were non AIS members quoted in this publication? Was
iris talk represented as an AIS sponsored activity? What do our iris
friends from other countries think?

I hope not, I've never heard of it until now....well ok I've never
considered reading it until now. I've got the whole thing, straight from
the source and in context right here. And I can even ask the author
questions if I need to.

Seems sad but true. Could specific AIS policy/procedure discussions be
taken to another list or even be brought up within the regional group
structure? It does seem to be an annual thing. I realize it is very
important to those actively involved in AIS but there are many of us who
love iris and participation in this group that are not involved in AIS.
I'm sure this will offend some people but I found this group several
years ago from an interent search for *iris* not AIS.
Strictly my humble opinion and if quoted, worth just what you paid for
it.
