Interesting you should mention the Kleinsorge line, Jeff.

Dr. Kleinsorge's things did not grow well for me in Idaho with the exception
of BRYCE CANYON and MEXICO.  The first did ok, the second very well.  TOBACCO
ROAD was so susceptible to Botrytis that I could not keep it alive.  That was
generally true of the line as a whole.  They also were not sunfast in the
intense sunlight of late May.

I asked Keith Keppel what ever happened to breeding browns?  Where's the
modern Kleinsorge, etc?  He said that browns just did not sell well generally.
For myself, I loved them.  When Tell Muhlestein introduced DR. K. (honoring
Kleinsorge, of course), I had a field day with the tweezers.  It not only grew
well, it also neither rotted nor faded.

Unfortunately the form problems present in the parent got worse and worse in
the offspring.  Isn't that often the case?
