Just thought of a few more fairly old performers.  'Ola Kala' is very
durable and flowers reliably well, but doesn't grow overly fast for me
(still perhaps faster than average).  I'm not certain, but think is pobably
rates as my best bright yellow.  Similar comments for 'Spartan', except the
yellow part.  I've also got a big old blue self, slightly ruffled, pale
beard, that grows like gang-busters (one of those that gets divided and
spread all over the yard) and flowers reliably well, but I'm blanking on
the name.  It's not extremely old, I think it dates from the 60's or 70's.
When the name come to me, I'll let you know.  I like it because it really
looks blue, a nice rich bright light blue, with only a just a hint of
purplish (looks great next to 'Ola Kala', but the blue tends to be a tad
earlier, so the time overlap is limited most years).
