This is not true. Reference
http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp.
If you want to worry about something, worry about the WMF exploit, which can
now be triggered by other file types. Reference http://isc.sans.org/ for the
latest information on this. When this exploit appeared a few days ago, it
required user interaction. A couple of days later, it required no user
interaction, and now, one may not even recognize that it is happening until
it is too late. This exploit only affects Windows 2000 and later systems (a
large number). If you are running Mac OS, Linux, Unix, or BSD, you are not
affected.
The notice about this latest exploit hit the web just before 10 PM EST. This
is some scary stuff. Currently, there is no real defense against this. Run
the updates on your anti-virus several times a day to ensure you have the
latest updates. Microsoft has not yet released a patch for this, but run
your windows update each day when you first log on to your machine and apply
at least the critical updates listed. One would hope that a patch is coming
shortly from Microsoft. See
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/912840.mspx for the
current information from Microsoft.
The above suggests unregistering a DLL file and provides the instructions
for doing so. However, it can be re-registered in any of several ways, so
you may wish to rename the file once it has been unregistered, since what
ever they come out with for a patch will likely require the presence of this
file.
Happy New Year to all!
And now back to the freshly made eggnog.

This just came to me from a parliamentary friend. Remember the call must be
FROM your cellphone. I do not know how to check that it is bonafide,
however.
If it is, maybe I'll be redeemed! Happy New Year, everyone --Rosalie
