I agree that some of Byers' everbloomers, which combine rain/humidity
tolerant lines with dry summer lines might do well in Tahiti. But our
experience with some/many/most? TBs bred and selected in Southern
mid-California is that they can't handle the constant summer rain and
humidity here, which sounds like it would pose a similar source of
stress in Tahiti.
Mike Sutton has noticed that they have less summer rebloom when both
humidity and temperatures are high, although I'm not sure exactly what
high humidity means in California summers. Our summer humidity is about
the same as Tahiti (?) only no breeze <g> and <lots> more air pollution.
<I think that if you try TBs from Southern - mid California...Try some
of Monty Byers'
rebloomers - I think they may thrive for you.Kathy
