If money isn't the prime consideration, you can't beat the Canon digital  
Rebel or "300".  At 8+ megapixels the image is very sharp.  What I  like the best 
about mine is that by combining it with the 50mm lens I am able to  take 
pictures with very accurate color in evening light.  I dislike  instruction books 
(It's a male thing) so I use it mostly like a point and shoot  and seldom get 
a fuzzy shot.  Contact me off list if you would like to see  a few shots I 
have taken with it.
