Friends  --  I need to make the transition to a digital camera before bloom
season.  One or two of you know I've been shopping around for a while.  At
this point, I'd like to hear from any of you who is well-satisfied with your
digital camera.  I am looking for  features that may involve tradeoffs against
one another, such as compactness,  detail and readability of view finder, zoom
capability, voice labeling and, most importantly, of course, color fidelity.
The prime consideration here is for use in the garden.  If anyone has a
camcorder that delivers these features, I'd like to hear about that, as well.
If you care to mention price, that would help.  And remember, please, you're
talking to someone who isn't all that techno-literate.  Thanks.  --  Griff

I don't recomend you choose from Canon's, I have one, but I think this
brand give no sound records. And many other limitatins there are. To
get most desirable advantages in one camera is quite difficult and
need lot of studies of web pages. I have done such and if I will buy
in future additional camera I will choose NICON. Here I put you web
page for Nicon Coolpix 8400, which illustrate all good advantages of
this camera such as good macro range from 3cm. Of course, 1cm is
better,but with such macro you can come quite a close and take details
of flower or insects or seeds. There are microfone and you can record your
remarks for photo. Also very important thing is that you can record
photo on Tiff format, which give best quality if you like use your
photo for publishing needs. Very wide range of resolutions and also of
shooting modes. There are more additional features but you can study
