When you re work your iris beds do you use the 'recipe' that was in the last
ROOTS?

When I had borers, the heaviest infestations were around the perimeters 
of the iris beds, closest to the tall grass outside the beds.  I can't 
comment on borer attraction to alfalfa, since I amend all of my beds 
with alfalfa meal with I rework them.

I can report, though, that borer presence in my beds has all but 
disappeared since I've been applying Merit granules early every spring 
for the last 6 yrs or so.  In fact, I don't think I've seen more than 
one or two borer-ravaged rzs in my beds in the last 6 yrs.  I am 
Merit's biggest fan!
