pink vs. orange

I would appreciate some clarification.
I have been saving portions of the emails on hybridizing efforts involving orange, pink, and yellow.
One email indicates that "pink is recessive to orange which is recessive to yellow" and another email states that "orange is recessive to pink". Did I misunderstand something or did someone accidentally mistype? 

Just trying to learn :-)
