Actually, this isn't true. There have been some long complicated discussions on FB, especially in the hybridizer's group and the rebloomer group. When new people start asking questions about genetics, several of us refer them to the archives, which I think is probably why the archives still get a lot of traffic.
And some of us have to go to the archives to retrieve information for these discussions when our brains no longer cooperate to spit out the info. ;-)
One of the things several of us relicts from iris-talk try to do is encourage questions, get new people, who are more likely to be on social media like FB, started breeding irises.
A few of those relatively new folks have started sending more recent newbies to the archives as well.
The iris lovers group is more about pretty faces, but sometimes folks there ask technical questions, which usually wind up in the hybridizers group. There are several other Facebook iris groups, but I don't follow them.
