I'm bringing over a comment I made in another thread:
These discussions that are in FB, how does one access them? I went there just to poke around since I was criticizing the place so based on little experience. Where are these conversations? It is a whirl of eye candy and live links, disappearing windows and links that take you to offsite pages. I'm sorry, it's nuts for me. I just want a nice "book in a quiet place", not a carnival. 
I'm sorry, I'm irritated.

One of the things several of us relicts from iris-talk try to do is encourage questions, get new people, who are more likely to be on social media like FB, started breeding irises.
A few of those relatively new folks have started sending more recent newbies to the archives as well.
The iris lovers group is more about pretty faces, but sometimes folks there ask technical questions, which usually wind up in the hybridizers group. There are several other Facebook iris groups, but I don't follow them.
