I consider the Iris Encyclopedia a major asset to AIS. I don't really see anything wrong with the venues that exist through hort.net, but do follow the facebook posts as well. For me, the the list-serves are best, but they only work if people post to them and lately people haven't been doing so. I suggest that the problem is winter, a time when many of us not thinking about iris. I prefer hort.net, but I will put up with facebook, too, if that is best for most people. I do think some people find it easier though I am not one of them.

My favorite feature by far is the linked pedigree entries. 2nd favorite is photos.

Speaking of which, still no pix of my Dusky Grape, but at least Lemon Ripple finally got its face present ;-) Distorted photo, but enough to give the general idea.
