I am not sure it will be in effect this year but my understanding is that the
powers that be have ordained that judges will have a choice of not one but
three TBs to vote on for DM. It will be worthing getting out the magnifying
glass and reading all the tiny type in the report of the Board of Directors
which appears in the upcoming Bulletin of the American Iris Society. The
Board had a number of letters protesting the choice of a TB they didn't like
and the non-TBs that they either didn't know or didn't like.
Has any one heard of a movement to start a Tall Bearded Iris Society? Seems a
resonable thing to do. Every other class has its own promotional
organization. The reason for not having a TB section used to be that the AIS
was the TB society, but that is slowly changing. I wonder if we shouldn't
have an Iris Hybridizers Society to represent their interests to the Board of
Directors.
