Could, and has. The saga of BLACK
MAGIC is a classic.

I'll leave that one to the historians, but
I can tell you that the practice pre-dates
the registration system and the "synonym"
category was created to accommodate
existing duplicate names.

If I may once again offer a "plug" re. the
archives....
There have been extensive discussions
about how to interpret the old Checklists.
I even contributed a chart that summarized
the meaning of the different type fonts used.
