Once a name has been registered with the AIS and the iris
officially recorded as having been introduced, that name cannot be used
again.

TEMPLE BELLS is a bearded iris of 1950's vintage, officially registered
and introduced by Brother Charles Reckamp. Spring Hill Nursery in Ohio
has 'copped' the name TEMPLE BELLS and has given it to a Japanese cultivar
they are selling. I brought this to their attention last year, but as
said earlier in a post today, they did not respond to my email. "Temple
Bells" as a Japanese was listed for sale again in the fall, so it appears
Spring Hill has no plans to check with the AIS registrar for verification
of names.
