It was so cold in October, November and December, I am sure these poor
little irises think it is spring. There were several spells with nights
below 20o and it stayed cold all through November and early December -
skies were clear. I was starting to worry about running out of
firewood. Starting around Christmas? it has been gray gray gray and wet
- very few clear days, so warm nights as well. Rarely below freezing,
though it did briefly get down close to 20o last night (a sunny day
today!) Those cold fronts have been dipping down in the middle of the
country but not scooting over this way like they usually do, so I
suspect it's been a tad colder in Texas and Ok than here.

Linda Mann east Tennessee USA
last night probably froze those little flower buds in their tracks.
