Crystal Palace Perennials (219) 374-9419, who specialize in bog and
water gardening plants, have a nice collection of I. versicolor, I.
versicolor x virginica and I. virginica cultivars. Can anyone comment
on how these might do in an area with good soil and average moisture
(but not boggy or especially moist). Crystal Palace recommends moisture
to a depth of 6" for all of them, but I wonder if this is simply the
outer limit of their water tolerance. What is the outer limit of their
DRY tolerance? I expect virginica is more dry-tolerant than
versicolor? Any comments would be appreciated. They're not cheap, ha
